NorthWest K9 Dogs In Training

NorthWest K9's Hesta

PLACED -- Hesta will be a natural for advanced obedience and obstacle course training with her new family who train Apaloosa horses in Oregon.

NorthWest K9's Hesta is a 14-month old medium size, 60-pound nicely coupled spayed female possessing a close stock coat with deeply-pigmented black and red saddle. Very nice expression, well-defined mask, dentition full and to standard. This is a lively, animated girl with a love of play and highly affectionate interaction with her people.

She is well-oriented to people while retaining a balanced reserve to standard. She demonstrates an inquisitive awareness and adaptability to new environments, with good rebound and readiness to investigate after encountering the unexpected.

She navigates with ease through public places populated with motorized vehicles, bicycles, adults and children, and other dogs. She's an easy-keeper in the house, crate, kennel, and vehicle, and settles in readily when not engaged in training or playtime.

An energetic retriever, Hesta is a nut for the ball and engages in very energetic and committed tug play. She shows good focus to the handler and is a demonstrably affectionate girl with moments of delightfully silly playfulness.
She's responding enthusiastically to foundation obedience and agility training to the commands sit, down, heel, watch it/take it, give, crate, wait, jump up, jump down, such, with more in development.

Her initial exposure to foundation footstep tracking (sod; temperature range 44-92F; none to light breeze; rain/shine) shows a good nose and once settled into the track, a methodical style.

She demonstrates neutrality to variable surfaces and is a nut for water play and swimming (if you want to shower alone, then lock the bathroom door).

Hesta is an honorary billy goat, remarkably agile and light on her feet. She'll happily retrieve and carry cloth, paper, wood, plastic, metal, and other materials. Gunsureness tested to pistol and rifle.
